Verbal abuse affects the child's development of self-confidence that could lead to disruption of social interaction. Impaired social interaction is a disruption of interpersonal relationships that occur due to the flexible personality that cause mal adaptive behavior and disrupt the function of a person in a social activity.rnPurpose: To determine the relation of verbal abuse by parents with social interactions in teens at Junior High School 2 Gantiwarno Klaten.rnMethods: In this study using analytic correlational design using a cross-sectional approach. Hypothesis testing using Kendall Tau correlation. The number of samples in this study were 69 students, which is taken by simple random sampling technique.rnResults: Verbal abuse received by students in the weight category of social interaction with students having less 2.9%. Verbal abuse is acceptable in the medium category with enough social interaction and verbal abuse 27.5% of students accepted in the lightweight category with good social interaction 60.9%.
